A Season To Be Proud Of

As the competition season comes to a close, we could not be prouder of our competition team at Gracie Barra Simi Valley, Camarillo, and Oxnard.
Watching these kids grow throughout the season has been something special. Their dedication, their work ethic, and the brotherhood and community they have built together on the mat are a clear example of what jiu-jitsu is truly about. Coaches and athletes from all three of our schools have given deeply of themselves to this program, and the results speak for themselves.

Grappling X and What We Accomplished This Season
One of the main tournaments we competed in this season was Grappling X, a regional youth grappling circuit that runs across multiple events throughout the year. Schools compete at each event and earn points over time, so the final standings reflect performance across the full season. It is a high-level environment, and it pushes our kids to rise to that level consistently. Over the course of the season, our team competed in several Grappling X events and came away with the following:
1st Place, Youth Gi Division
2nd Place, Overall Academy Rankings
These results were not earned in a single day. They were built event after event, match after match, across an entire season of competition. That is what makes them meaningful. They reflect the consistency of our team and the steady progress of our kids' competition program throughout the year.

More Than Any Award
Results matter, but they are not the most important thing we measure.
What our coaches are most proud of is what these kids have been developing on and off the mat. The discipline to show up when it is hard. The team spirit to cheer for a teammate as loudly as you celebrate your own win. The work ethic that carries over into school, into the home, and into everyday life. The sense of community and belonging that makes Gracie Barra feel like a second family.
That is what we are really building here. And that is what jiu-jitsu, at its best, is capable of creating.

This Is What Our Kids Program Is Designed For
Whether a child is competing at a high level or stepping onto the mat for the very first time, our goal is always the same. We are here to develop great people.
Our programs start at three years old and go all the way through thirteen, with three programs built specifically for each stage of a child's development.
Little Champions I serves children ages three to five, introducing them to movement, listening, and the basics of jiu-jitsu in a fun and age-appropriate setting.
Little Champions II serves ages five to eight, where kids begin to build real technique, focus, and confidence.
Juniors serves ages nine to thirteen, where athletes are challenged at a higher level and where many of our competition team members develop their skills and competitive identity.
Each program meets kids exactly where they are. Beginner or advanced, recreational or competitive, every child who walks through our doors is being prepared for more than jiu-jitsu. They are being prepared for life.
